Supreme Commander 2 - E3 First look
US, June 2, 2009 - Two years ago, Gas Powered Games released the spiritual successor to the critically and fan acclaimed Real Time Strategy game Total Annihilation. Supreme Commander provided a sense of scale and depth that had never been seen before in an RTS. At E3 today, I was able to get a glimpse at Supreme Commander 2, the next chapter in the franchise, which has been in development for nine months. Chris Taylor from Gas Powered Games pointed out that the design team wanted to focus on story, gameplay and characters while improving on all elements of the technology that made Supreme Commander stand out. While he didn't go deep into the story details, Taylor mentioned that Supreme Commander 2 takes place 25 years after the events of Forged Alliance, and will involve three friends that eventually find themselves on opposite sides during the war.

Left 4 Dead 2
Game Trailers have just released this Left 4 Dead 2 trailer. Take a look.
"A large part of how Left 4 Dead became 2008's top-selling new IP on Xbox 360 and the PC was the custom-tailored gameplay made possible by the AI Director," said Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve. "With the knowledge gained from creating the original, new technology, and a passionate team, L4D2 will set a new benchmark for cooperative action games."
Set for Nov. 17 as an Xbox 360 and PC "exclusive", the game will add melee combat, deeper cooperative gameplay and new weapons, including a chainsaw, frying pan, axe and baseball bat.
The game will make use of AI Director 2.0, which Valve says will take the game's dynamic gameplay to the next level. That means the ability to procedurally change weather, world objects and pathways and "tailoring" enemy population, effects and sound.
The game will also feature new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items. Valve says the game is much larger than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, and maps for Survival mode available at launch.
"Left 4 Dead was backed by our most aggressive advertising campaign to date, and resulted in a top 5 showing on two platforms during holiday 2008," said Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. "Left 4 Dead 2 is a larger game and will be supported with even more consumer and retail advertising programs than the original."

Natural Selection 2
The developers of popular Half-Life mod Natural Selection are preparing to release standalone sequel Natural Selection 2 this year via Steam.
You can now PREORDER Natural Selection 2.
Last we heard, the development of the standalone sequel to one of the most played Half-Life 2 mods had hit a financial snag, with developers forced to sell Sodoku to get by. Now we learn that grassroots fund raising and investor capital have given developer Unknown Worlds all they need to finish the game, which will be released later this year via Steam.
Like the original Half-Life mod, Natural Selection 2 pits two teams of up to 16 players against each other in a battle between space marines and the aliens who would infect them, featuring real-time alien infestation effects and a great deal of strategic gameplay for those looking for something more from their shooter.
I'd have to say the game is looking absolutely gorgeous. The team at Unknown Worlds have crafted their own game engine for the project, and everything you see in the video is created using said engine. Not bad for a four-person development team, huh?
Oh, and for those of you unfamiliar with the mod, that giant beastie up there? That's an Onos, and it's playable. Yum.
Find out more at the official Natural Selection 2 website.
